Finally, I’m free!

What’s up FGC! Isiah from the Invincible VS Community Team here with the FINAL Dev Diary for our base roster. It took a while, but Conquest is finally free and ready to wreak havoc. Check out more on the highly anticipated Viltrumite below!

Who is Conquest?

Conquest is the most ruthless member of the Viltrum Empire, feared even by fellow Viltrumites. Conquest doesn’t care about duty or ideologies… he just wants to inflict as much pain and destruction as possible. If there’s a fight to be had… believe he’s going to enjoy it.

Here’s more from our Narrative Director, Mike Rogers.

“Conquest is a goddamned psychopath and that’s what makes him so much fun. I love how he turned out. Episode 308 gave us incredible reference and I think fans will appreciate how much we were able to recreate in-game (iconic poses, his Ultimate, the blood heart taunt). We also got to come up with brand-new interactions, like Battle Beast and Conquest, who Helen and I viewed as two sides of the same bloodthirsty coin. (Dare I say good timing with Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #7’s latest tease— check out your local comic book store!)

Conquest is a perfect fit for a fighting game, especially one this violent. Hopefully this feels like a dream come true for players, because it certainly would be for Conquest. Blood dripping down his fists as chunks of his enemies explode all around him… that’s what it’s all about, right? Right..?”

Design and Gameplay

Conquest is the ultimate Striker Fighter. He excels at pressuring down his opponents by blasting through their offense with armored attacks and re-engaging with excellent reach.

Here’s more from Bau, Lead Combat Designer, on Conquest’s playstyle moves!

“Conquest is one of the most brutal and visually striking additions to Invincible VS, bringing a move set packed with pure power, cruelty, and direct callbacks to his most iconic moments from the show.  His attacks are heavy and deliberate, dominating space and hitting with overwhelming force. He carries a ton of personality with chunky heavies, vicious aerials, and the only other taunt in the game (outside of Rex Splode) that deals damage, complete with his unforgettable blood‑bubble flick.

Because Conquest is such an iconic character, we wanted to make sure to faithfully weave his signature brutality into his gameplay. Many of his attacks are a direct reference to scenes from the series, like his backhand against Oliver, the horizontal chop that broke Eve’s leg, and the charged impale that fans of the show will immediately recognize. His supers capture that same deranged energy, letting you blast straight through opponents and drag them across the arena.

While Conquest hits with the force of one of the most powerful Viltrumites to ever exist, mastering him means respecting his deliberate pacing. A lot of his moves have longer windups or limited tracking, but the payoff is massive if you’re able to open up your opponent. Whether you’re blasting through projectiles or crumpling foes mid‑screen, Conquest exudes raw and overwhelming violence, making him a must‑try Fighter for anyone who loves power and intimidation.”

Thanks so much for reading our Dev Diary series. We’re going to take a break for a while but expect us to be back when it’s time to talk more about the first two Fighters in our Year 1 Pass, Immortal and Universa! Until then, we’ll see you in the fight!
