Let's talk Closed Alpha, Evo 2026, and our release date

Hey yo! I’m Jeff Landa with the Community Team here on Invincible VS and we’re dropping one last dev update before the end of the year.

With the Closed Alpha now behind us, Quarter Up has had some time to collect your feedback and have put together a little summary of the biggest things we are working on as we get ready for launch. And in case you missed it, we are launching on April 30, 2026…so pre-order now!

Hey gang! This is Mike Willette, Executive Producer on Invincible VS. I want to start with a wrap up of our Closed Alpha. Thanks to those who signed up and played to help us focus test some crucial design and network features.

We’ve compiled a list below to briefly explain what we’ve done and what we are working on based on the most common feedback from you during the Closed Alpha:

OBSERVATIONS AND FOCUS AREAS

Navigation

  • Movement still felt a little stubby, so we are working on additional movement fluidity and improvements to the overall feel
  • Jumps felt a little “floaty” so we are exploring improvement to jump heights and arcs
  • We noticed it was hard to attack out of our Triangle Jumps and have made updates to address attack timing

Motion Inputs

  • We addressed a couple bugs that would cause unintended inputs (for example, dash forward in QCF would throw out a DP)
    • Big thanks to Rooflemonger and Jwong for the videos that helped us track this down!

Combo Meter

  • Fixed major issue that would cause Combo Meter penalties to be applied when they should not have been. This was causing combos to be shorter than intended.

Looping Supers

  • If you want to do more than one Super from the same character in a combo you will now need to use an active assist.
    • For example, Omni-Man can no longer Super 2 into itself

Rollback Netcode improvement

  • We saw multiple issues with rollbacks concerning cameras, lip sync, and VFX remaining on screen, all of which we are currently working on

WHAT ARE WE WORKING ON?

  • Continue to improve Netcode
  • Continued balance improvements – (We see you Cecil and Battle Beast players!!!)
  • Art and animation polish
  • New characters, arenas, and modes😉

Thanks to all the feedback left in all our community spaces. We’ve done our best to comb through everything you posted about the Closed Alpha experience and will keep checking your comments.
